Diana – Private Client

I’ve done various translations for Diana over recent years and she recently returned with a further request for my services.

This request was personally important to Diana as she was preparing her application to register with the General Medical Council.

Specifically, Diana needed to prove that she had completed the requisite number of hours of continuing professional development (CPD).

In her particular case, she had around 90 certificates in Spanish certifying attendance of various medical courses over the previous three years. A huge volume!

This represented a bit of a problem because to translate all 90 certificates and produce like-for-like translations would have been very time-consuming and expensive.

Together we came up with another solution: Diana would produce a one-line summary of each certificate and I would translate the summaries instead. Much quicker and more economical.

There was a further issue: all 90 certificates needed to be amalgamated into a single PDF file along with the summaries so that the file could be submitted online.

Fortunately, with some clever use of Adobe and compression software, I was able to create a single PDF file which complied with the file size restrictions.
